I love sketchbooks, other peoples and my own.
Quick, but thoughtful. Un-forced.

Once upon a time I sketched an idea for a "dreamscape"
and then made it out of wood.
Looking back on the drawings predating the work,
I thought that they were just as good,
only in a very different way.
I sometimes think sketches aren't given the respect they deserve,
 that because they are sketches,
 they are unfinished and unsophisticated.

I made this little sketch-print
looking at my original drawing
and trying to make an only slightly more sophisticated version
of it on a book cover.
I water colored the book then printed the lines.
