pompidou, not pamplemousse.

Georges Pompidou was the prime minister of France from 1962-1968, apparently he decided that they create the pompidou. A funny thing about Paris is how everything is relatively low, the buildings and such, unlike New Yawk. But it makes is really easy to get a beautiful picture of the city.

Le Sacre Coeur is probably one of the most beautiful buildings I've seen, it makes me think of a little French Taj Mahal. The veiw from le Pompidou was superb, but let's not forget le Pompidou itself, besides housing a huge collection of modern art, it's the most bizarre building, the inside/outside escalators pictured above. It's a really good illustration of how Paris meshes modernity and antiquity.

Now, don't confuse Pompidou with pamplemousse (grapefruit).
