year of the rabbit

it's the chinese new year, the year of the rabbit.

now i didn't make a big fuss about the western/gregorian new year, and i'm not really sure why. so today i'll celebrate. partially because i like rabbits and partially because it fascinates me how deeply ingrained our own calendar is in our lives. i was reading some horoscopes about people being born in the year of the rabbit, and it referred to them as "rabbit people," so today, we're all rabbit people in my book!
